Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC is a retired commissioned officer in the Indian Army, who was awarded the highest Indian wartime gallantry decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, for his actions during the Kargil War.

Enlisted with the 18 Grenadiers and assigned to the Ghatak Force commando platoon, was assigned with the daunting task of seizing three vital bunkers on Tiger Hill during the wee-hours of July 4, 1999. The bunkers were perched on top of a sheer, snow-covered cliff face that rose 1,000 feet (300 metres). Subedar Major Yadav offered to lead the attack, scaled the sheer cliff face, and set up ropes to facilitate additional attacks on the targets. The platoon commander and two other army-men were killed halfway up when machine gun and rocket fire from an enemy bunker struck. Subedar Major Yadav climbed the final 60 feet (18 m) despite taking 12 bullets to the groin and shoulder, killing four Pakistani soldiers, disabling opposition fire, and significantly aiding in the seizure of the target.

Subedar Major Yadav was conferred the honorary rank of Captain by the President of India on Independence Day of 2021. Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, Military Secretary and Colonel of the Grenadiers, presented the rank badges. He retired from army on 31 December 2021 in the Honorary Captain rank.

In the 2004 Hindi film Lakshya, which is based on the Battle of Tiger Hill, Hrithik Roshan's portrayal of the fictional military hero Karan Shergill depicts the valiant acts of Subedar Major Yadav's company.

Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, PVC post-retirement joined the advisory board of udChalo, a consumer technology company serving armed forces personnel. He was also conferred with UP state’s highest award Yash Bharti in the year 2015.
