Guru Purnima, the festival dedicated to spiritual and academic Gurus of our life was celebrated in IPS COLLEGE on the 3rd of July 2023. The full moon day in the month of Ashadth of the Hindu calendar, celebrated as Guru Purnima pays tribute to Maharishi Vedavyasa who compiled the Vedas, Eighteen Puranas, the Brahma Sutras and the Mahabharatha.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the Honourable Director and Honourable Convener of IPS GROUP OF COLLEGES along with the Faculty Members in an illuminating environment of slokas and mantras, followed by felicitation of all the Faculty Members.

The BBA, BCA and MBA students not only invoked divine blessings by performing on recitals of Guru Stotram but also paid their obeisance to their mentors – their sources of inspiration. The Student Event Committee also organized entertaining and fun activities for their Faculty Members which was an instant hit with their batch mates.

Addressing the students on the occasion Mrs. Deepti Agarwal, Honourable Director and Prof. Sudhir Agarwal, Honourable Convener of IPS GROUP OF COLLEGES, advised the students to prepare themselves to become the Gurus of the next generation, elucidating the fact that a teacher is like a lamp who burns to give light to others. Similarly, they too need to become lamps in the life of others and always guide society through thick and thin.

The program culminated with all students, staff and faculty members partaking in ‘Kheer Puri Prasadam’, reverberating with the piousness of ‘A grateful heart as a magnet for miracles’.
